Our Venue

The Legion

American Legion Eastern Shore Post 199 is a U.S. Military Veterans Service Organization that is a registered 501(c)(19) Non-Profit. We are Open to the Public and located on the a bluff overlooking beautiful Mobile Bay. Please drop by, check out our programs, events, entertainment, and our full service restaurant and other facilities.

Post 199 originally resided in a three-story, 100+ year-old wooden building on the shores of beautiful Mobile Bay. In 2020 back to back hurricanes rendered the building not fit for operations so we pivoted and have built a 3500+ modern facility affectionatly refered to as Phase I. Phase II will be focused on the historic building. Stay tuned and get involved to be a part of the Post 199 Legacy!

The Post 199 Legion Family consists of the Legionnaires, Sons of the American Legion (SALs/Sons), the American Legion Auxiliary (Aux), and the American Legion Riders (ALR/Riders). We also have the generous support of our Phase I Plank Owners and the Patriot Point 199 Giving Club.

For private and public events we offer an amazingly historic and beautiful venue. The large, covered beach-front music stage with our famous Tiki Bar and long fishing pier, along with a covered pavilion on the beach area where outdoor concerts, weddings and other events are held. The beautiful Phase I building has a large event space with large French doors overlooking the bluff/bay, and a small stage is available for focused attention or light entertainment. The restaurant can provide menu or catered options, as well as dedicated beverage service. Servers, bartenders, and other services can be negotiated as well.

Smoking is not allowed indoors – but is permitted in designated areas around the campus, and we welcome registered service animals.

We look forward to hosting your events whether public or private, and partnering to ensure the legacy and the future of The American Legion Eastern Shore Post 199 is here for all Service Members, future Veterans & You: The Patriots in our wonderful supportive community!
